Charlie Teo Foundation’s ‘Challenge4BrainCancer’ is a virtual community fundraising event happening during Brain Cancer Awareness Month in May. Challenge4BrainCancer is an opportunity for supporters to come together virtually, no matter where they are, and take part in the virtual event. Participants will be invited to sign up and select their own personal or team challenge to complete during May. We encourage participants to set up an individual, team or workplace fundraising page and help raise funds for vital brain cancer research.

“Brain cancer is totally indiscriminate as to who it affects. Symptoms can come on suddenly and can be devastating. People diagnosed with brain cancer are forced to face an unimaginable fate. They are thrust right out of their comfort zone, facing the biggest challenge of their life.
We must help them hold hope. We need to invest in research into brain cancer to find the answers needed to rapidly improve outcomes for brain cancer patients.” - Dr Charlie Teo AM

Yes, the Challenge is free to enter. We hope that you set up a fundraising page either individually or as a team and ask for support. Every dollar counts and brings better outcomes for brain cancer patients. Register for free here.

There is no minimum, raise as much as you can :) But we hope that each person sets a goal of $500 or more to fundraise over the campaign - the more money raised, the closer we get to finding a cure for brain cancer. Plus, anyone who raises over $500 receives a FREE Charlie Teo Foundation t-shirt!

We are here to support you toward your ambitious fundraising goal.
Here are some of our tips to get your fundraising started…
Personalise your page – Update your bio and profile picture so that your friends and family know who they are donating to and why you are fundraising.
Get out of your comfort zone - Choose something that will challenge you in the lead up to Brain Cancer Awareness Month.
Believe in yourself - Choose an ambitious fundraising goal. The more money raised, the more money goes to the best brains to beat brain cancer!
Show yourself some love – Kickstart your fundraising by donating to yourself, that way your friends and family are more likely to donate too 😊
Create a Challenge army - Start a team and invite your friends and family to join.
Post on socials – Think Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, Twitter and TikTok! Let everyone far and wide know why you are challenging yourself for brain cancer research. Post pics and videos of you completing your Challenge. Be loud and proud! And don’t forget to thank them for their support.
Reach out personally to friends - Email and SMS are a great way to personally engage with your loved ones to encourage them to donate to your page.
Share the love – Pay it forward by donating to a fellow Challenge member to show your support.
Get your workplace involved - Ask your workplace if they would be keen to start a team or can match your fundraising goal.

We encourage you to pick a Challenge that will force you to get out of your comfort zone. Challenge4BrainCancer is an event that everyone across Australia can get involved in to acknowledge Brain Cancer Awareness Month and raise funds for brain cancer research. It could be anything at all that you will find challenging - give up something you crave, commit to something each day that forces you to step up, try a new sport, learn a new hobby, get your mates, school friends or work colleagues together in a team challenge, shave or colour your hair for brain cancer research - the ideas are limitless.
-
No, we want to make this challenge as flexible as possible to take part in. We understand life is busy, so you choose your own personal challenge to do in Brain Cancer Awareness Month. Do it your way in May - this might involve challenging yourself every day, every week, or just the once!
-
We encourage you to challenge your workplace, whether big or small, to get involved with Challenge4BrainCancer. You can do this by simply creating a team and inviting your colleagues to join!
It is a great way to bring your team together, connect as a group, and give back to the community by raising much needed funds for brain cancer research.
You can also double your impact by asking your workplace to match the donations made towards your fundraising goal.
